June Fest Newbridge presents Lockdown Chats
Live through Zoom Webinar – 8.00 pm, 17 June 2020.
Also available on June Fest’s Facebook and YouTube platforms.
The first chat in the series, in association with CelticCon Midlands Comic Convention, will see author, Mario Corrigan, and illustrator, Dave Butler, discussing their collaboration in the publication of the Do Fish Wear Pyjamas series of children’s books:
-How they formed the idea for the books
-Creating the characters
-Bringing the characters to life
-Designing and illustrating the publications
-Using local landscapes, folklore, and history as the basis for -children’s story books
-Vagaries of self-publishing
-Workshopping ideas for the books with local school children – so children become co-authors
“We hope our chat will inspire people to write, draw, sing, dance – whatever it takes to be creative.”
According to author Mario Corrigan:
In the Do Fish Wear Pyjamas series, Bebob and Gooey team up with Gonzo and Brídín, on a whirlwind adventure through ancient abbeys and secret tunnels. And their quest for the Great Book of Kildare becomes a deadly battle to save the world from a long dead Viking Lord and his Dark Army.
Chat should be of interest to teachers, parents, young people generally – particularly those interested in writing for children.JuneFest Newbridge presents in association with CelticCon Midlands Comic Convention.
The First of a series of chats over the coming weeks and months.
